Packed with user-driven enhancements, Collector upgrades, and the usual mix of new features, small fixes, and improvements, this latest version of netTerrain delivers even more user-friendly tools to help you get your work done even more quickly and easily. Major netTerrain Enhancements
Rich Text Support:
The addition of Rich Text Support makes it easy-peasy to manage and edit text with various formatting options directly in netTerrain:
- Seamlessly upload images with text in rich text format (RTF)
- Easily resize RTF images
- Edit rich text with just a right-click or click of a button
- Download and re-upload RTF files for easy management and editing
- Simplify the process of adding and editing rich text in your documentation
OSP Upgrades:
netTerrain 9.6 introduces improvements to the OSP module that make it even easier to manage fiber plants and increase efficiency.
Some highlights include:
- Single Strand Circuit Paths: Create single strand pathways for fiber circuits with ease.
- Re-splicing & re-re-splicing: Split fiber strands into multiple segments for more connection options.
- Circuit Creation from a CLR: Generate circuits directly from within Circuit Layout Records (CLR).
Minor netTerrain enhancements
netTerrain 9.6 includes several enhancements that improve the overall user experience.
Some highlights include:
- Lootbox Link: You can now access the Lootbox anytime from within netTerrain and start stacking up points for some loot (that is, if you like free stuff).
- Simplified Log Access: Download application logs directly from the admin console.
- Custom Time Zone Settings: Personalize your account with preferred time zone settings.
- Circuit Field Customization: Rearrange circuit fields in the interface to suit your needs.
- API & Security Enhancements: Benefit from advanced product security and superior API performance.
Collector enhancements
netTerrain 9.6’s enhancements to our discovery engine, the Collector, make it easier to discover and manage network data with new connector upgrades and improved SNMP data collection for tables.
Some highlights include:
- Support for multi-variable polling
- Ability to discover devices via Ping
- Support for Proxy settings for the collector
- ServiceNow connector improvements (proxy support, write-back and more)
- Additional connectors:
- Nagios
- Zabbix
- WhatsUp Gold
- PRTG
- AWS and Azure connector improvements
- SSH support
- Modbus support (Beta)
- Support for event notifications on apps
- Ability to bring in entPhysicalTable and PortChannel data via SNMP
How to upgrade?
Upgrading to 9.6 is a snap: just log in as an administrator, access the admin console, and click the “request software upgrade” button within the software.
As usual, we announce upgrades through our portal and via email; upgrades are provided at no cost for customers under maintenance.
