The eagle lands again — this time bringing Air-Blown Fiber (ABF) modeling, dedicated workflows, and expanded visualization capabilities, along with support for Common Access Card (CAC) login and client certificate (SSL) authentication.
Version 10.1 builds directly on 10.0 with focused enhancements across modeling, circuits, usability, IPAM, and authentication handling.

Major netTerrain 10.1 Enhancements
- Air-Blown Fiber (ABF) modeling, workflows, and visualization
10.1 introduces dedicated support for modeling Air-Blown Fiber infrastructure. At its core, this is a link model with pre-built sub-tubes — and yes, you can have tubes within tubes. Whether you’re documenting air-blown fiber, conduits, or micro ducts, this capability provides a new way to represent hierarchical containment in your cabling infrastructure. We expect users will find a variety of practical applications beyond traditional ABF deployments.

- Common Access Card (CAC) login and client certificate (SSL) authentication
netTerrain 10.1 adds support for CAC login and client certificate authentication. For environments where smart cards or certificate-based authentication are required, users can now access netTerrain without relying solely on username/password credentials. As with any authentication configuration, deployment specifics may vary. Our team is available to assist with setup and configuration as needed.
Minor Enhancements (Highlights)
OSP & Circuit Improvements
- Circuit layout and CLR rendering fixes (display and path calculation) (#GN1653, #GN1943)
- Support for complex and mixed parallel circuit connections (#GN1944)
- Swimlane CLR completion fixes for single-to-multi strand connections (#GN1904)
- Circuit label visibility: You can now control what is displayed on block circuits — type, name, buffer color, stripe color, and more. If labels were becoming crowded, they can now be simplified or hidden entirely for cleaner diagrams. (#GN2297)

Usability Improvements
- Ability to disable trackpad zooming — useful for users working on trackpads who want more precise navigation control (#GN1008)
- Prebuilt diagram templates now ship with the master database (#GN2213)
- Table view enhancements: Most table views now support sortable columns, including field views for objects. A small change that improves day-to-day efficiency. (#GN2235)
IPAM Enhancements
- Support for larger CIDR blocks (#GN2319)
- Improved handling of reserved IP addresses and device association (#GN1675)
Security & Maintenance
- Client certificate (SSL) authentication fixes (#GN2199, #GN2231)
- Front-end dependency review and TypeScript SDK updates (#GN1748, #GN1504)
- User privacy improvements during logout (#GN2254)
- Active Directory authentication error handling improvements (#GN2296)
To Upgrade:
Upgrading is included if you are under current maintenance. Log in to netTerrain as an administrator, open the Admin Console, and click “Request software upgrade.”

You can also open a support ticket to start your upgrade.
Full release notes are, as always, available to all customers under active maintenance. If you have questions, we’re here to help.
Until the next 10.x landing — happy documenting!
