netTerrain 9.8 highlights include:

Major netTerrain Enhancements

  • ESRI Import Support: We’ve added ESRI import capabilities for both nodes and links, making it easier to integrate your GIS data. You can now package the arcGIS importer, set up config files, and run a utility to bring in your data, saving time and effort.
  • Azure and GCP (Monitoring & Cost Control): Keep better track of your cloud expenditures with our expanded monitoring and cost management features for Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Improved Circuit Functionality:
    • netTerrain now has a “block circuit CLR” for more efficient circuit documentation.
    • We’ve introduced a cleaner swimlane Circuit Layout Record (CLR) view. The swimlane CLR now simplifies the display of connection hierarchies and end-to-end paths, making it easier to understand your data.
    • You can create and manage circuits more intuitively, with a focus on user-friendly interfaces and reduced redundancy.
    • Easier circuit CLR creation with relaxed rules
    • Ability to create “loop” circuits, using different cards on same device
    • Other fixes

The swimlane CLR now provides simplified views with less redundancy

Minor netTerrain Enhancements

  • Enhanced API and Performance: Numerous new API functions and batch operations, and improved overall performance to streamline your workflow.
  • Security Updates: Multiple security fixes and updates ensure your data continues to remain protected.
  • User Interface Improvements: An improved catalog with newer generic icons and new AWS/Azure icons.
  • Enhanced Bill Of Materials (BOM) Report: Run a BOM report when creating circuits to see which links and link types are in use for that circuit.
  • Redesigned Audit Trail Dialog: For better usability and easier tracking of changes.
  • User Table Enhancements: Admins can now view additional user information, including an MFA column to check the status of multi-factor authentication and the ability to disable MFA if needed.
  • Enable Triggers for Excel Imports: Adding flexibility to your data management processes.
  • Improved Performance for Bulk Imports and Background Uploads: Ensuring smoother and faster data handling.
  • PDF Exports: Now supporting non-western characters, broadening your documentation options.
  • Sorting and Custom Fields for Strands: OSP users can now add custom fields and properties to cables and modify strand properties.

You can now run a BOM report when creating circuits to see which links and link types are in use for that circuit.
